TROUBLING

Waiting in line
Biding my time
No idea loving you was such a crime

Driving fast cars
To cover the scars
That bind us together like coveted hearts

I’m doing fine
Counting what’s mine
Cashing in chips I know aren’t worth a dime

Broken heart
From your poisoned dart
Alone at sea facing reality

That no man’s an island
That my ship has sailed
Riding each storm’s 90 mile hour gales
